When the Pixel 11 launched last week, Australian pricing had not landed on Google's own pages. It has now, the phones are in stores today, and the numbers deserve a closer look than the launch coverage gave them.
The Pixel 11 range goes on shelves in Australia today. When I covered the launch last week, local pricing was still reported rather than settled. It is settled now, listed consistently across Google's local pricing, the telcos and Australian retail.
The full price list
The Pixel 11 starts at $1,499 for 256GB, with 512GB at $1,699. The Pixel 11 Pro runs $1,849, $2,049 and $2,399 across 256GB, 512GB and 1TB. The Pro XL goes $2,099, $2,299 and $2,649 for the same three tiers, and the Pixel 11 Pro Fold tops the range at $2,799, $2,999 and $3,349.
What the numbers are actually doing
Compared like for like, the base Pixel 11 costs what a 256GB Pixel 10 cost last year. The difference is the cheap door is gone: there is no 128GB model anymore, so the entry price of a new Pixel effectively rose even though the per-gigabyte deal improved. The Pro XL and the Fold are each $100 up on last year's equivalent 256GB models.
Where the discounts are
The telcos are throwing real money at this launch. Optus has $500 off the Pixel 11 and 11 Pro and $1,000 off the Pro XL and Pro Fold on eligible plans, with end dates running through September and into October, and Telstra and Vodafone have their own device credits and trade-in bonuses in the same range. On Google's own store, the launch offers from last week still stand: $599 of Pixel Watch 5 or store credit with a Pro XL, $449 worth with a Pro, both ending 27 August, plus up to $700 trade-in on a Pixel 10 Pro until 4 September.
Full coverage of what the phones themselves bring, the Tensor G6, the thinner camera bar and the seven years of updates, is in my Pixel 11 launch story from last week.
