Satechi added a bigger sibling to its ChargeView line on 11 August. The ChargeView 240W is a desktop charger with six USB-C ports and a colour screen on the front showing, live, how many watts each port is pulling.

The screen is the whole reason this product line exists. Every multi-port charger reshuffles its power budget when a new device joins, and the usual result is a laptop quietly dropped to a trickle because a phone jumped the queue. You normally find out an hour later when the battery has not moved. A live readout turns that guessing into reading.

How the 240 watts splits

There is a clear pecking order across the six ports. The top two push up to 140W each, the middle pair handle up to 100W each, and the last two are 30W ports for phones, earbuds and watches. It runs GaN internals, and the stand and power cord come in the box.

Price and availability

It costs US$149.99 in Space Black from Satechi's site and Amazon. I have not confirmed Australian stock or a local price, so budget for the exchange rate and shipping if you want one soon. The smaller 140W ChargeView from April remains on sale if 240 watts is more desk than you own.
