The Nest is Orbitkey's answer to the pile of stuff that lives next to a laptop. It closes into a tidy block, and that closing is most of the point.
The Nest v2 is a desk organiser with a wireless charging pad built into the tray, priced at $169.90. It holds cables, a phone, keys and the small items that otherwise migrate across a desk over a week, and it shuts to hide the lot.
The clever bit is the lid
Not the charging. Plenty of things charge a phone. The reason this works is that closing it every evening turns tidying from a job into a reflex, and that is a behaviour change rather than a product feature.
At this price the honest comparison is not against a cheap tray, it is against just having a drawer. If the desk has drawers, a lot of the Nest's job is already covered. If it does not, which is true of most sit-stand desks, it is solving a real problem that the desk itself created.
